I’m Carolie Ediger, and this is my second year with Lawrence Virtual School. I came to LVS with fifteen years of experience teaching the various 8th grade math classes and science in Hutchinson, KS. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Sterling College, and I earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction online from the University of St. Mary. I am excited to begin this phase of my career as a virtual educator by helping families educate their children at home.
I live in the country outside of Hutchinson. My husband and I have three sons with the youngest one still living at home attending college. We enjoy a lot of outdoor activities and I enjoy drawing and painting.
I’m Rachel Long, and this is my ninth year teaching math for Lawrence Virtual School and fifteenth year overall. I have a secondary math education degree, music minor and masters in educational technology. This year I am teaching Algebra I for 7th and 8th graders, supporting some advanced math students as well as supporting and mentoring parents as an educational specialist. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this journey at LVS as we strive to virtually educate each individual student. I am privileged to serve such wonderful Kansas families as an educational specialist, partnering with them to educate their own. My husband, Eric, is a teacher as well, and we have a six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter. Eric and I both enjoy playing different musical instruments in our free time. We are both educators and anxious for another year.
I'm Becky O'Keefe, and this is my 23rd year of teaching and ninth year at the Lawrence Virtual School. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University in Elementary and Middle School Education with minors in Theatre and Mathematics and a master’s degree from Kansas University in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics. I live in Lawrence with my husband and two awesome kids, and will work with seventh and eighth grade families this year. I feel incredibly fortunate to work for the Lawrence Virtual School and enjoy partnering with parents to help their children learn.
